Poem: Double Rununculous

                                                                Rununculous

                                                                       Called by light
from winter's dark sleep,
she comes
seeking love,
 unfurling her glory,
layer upon golden layer,
ocher in her depths,
lemon on her lips,
smiling beauty into the world.

Kissed by light and warmth,
drunk with dew,
a gentle weave opens,
with arch and curl,
beautiful as a maiden.

Tucked within her heart,
beneath every glowing, velvet petal,
beneath the pale green promise
of  tomorrow's blessing,
the link which sustains,
silent, unseen and unheralded,
strong and eternal,
the very hand of God.
