Poem: Full Moon Rendezvous

Full Moon Rendezvous

Rosy with joy,
the moon gazes in full
upon the face of her beloved,
together for one evening
and one morning only.

Can you hear them singing,
shouting across the world;
she in a simple, silver melody
and he answering with
every string ascending
and a blast of trumpets?

The Earth shrugs its shoulder
and again they are parted,
for twenty eight long days
seeking, in vain, a glimpse
of that other dear countenance.
