Poem: Take, And Keep

In company with the enchanted earth,
the space between atoms,
and others of similar
fabrics and designs, I am
weaving balms and armor
for you, dear one,
whom I do not know.

I am pulling threads
of emotion,
needling open knots of fear,
tucking tight the
corners of courage,
and smoothing love into
every line with both hands.

Hold my words
against your heart,
fold them safely into your
splendid, spinning mind
so when, distraught,
you lean upon your hand,
they may spill forth
to wrap you in solace.
